PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader where a luminous quantity is corrected, in response to a characteristic of a set copy mode and high image quality and high productivity can be harmonized. SOLUTION: A CPU 28 of the image reader sets the frequency of luminous quantity sensing by a CCD 204, when the copy mode is set to a high image quality mode. On the other hand, when the copy mode is set to a high productivity mode, the frequency of luminous quantity sensing by the CCD 204 is set lower. Then based on the luminous quantity detected by the CCD 204, a gain of an AMP section 206 is adjusted so that a copy output which is intended by the user is obtained. |
