PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a filler of high reinforcing strength at a low cost, by using a zeolite having a particle size of a specified dia. or less and a sharp particle size distribution. SOLUTION: A zeolite as a reinforcing filler for the improvement of the physical properties such as tensile strength, modulus, hardness, elasticity, and frictional resistance by blending to a polymer material such as a rubber or a synthetic resin, and as a substitute for a carbon black unexpectable in cost reduction, shall have a sharp particle size distribution, a max. particle dia. of 5μm or less, pref. 4μm or less, and an average particle dia. of pref. 1.4μm or less, more pref. 1.2μm or less; the zeolite has a reinforcing strength equal. to or above that of a carbon black and has a low cost planned. As an example, a tensile strength in the case of a blend of 50 pts.wt. of the zeolite as a reinforcing filler to 100 pts.wt. of an ethylene/propylene/diene terpolymeric elastomer, is 13.3 MPa.
