PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle motor which shows small fluctuations of an asynchronous rotary component, needs a small starting torque, can be used in an inverted state, and further, more has superior impact resistance. SOLUTION: The rotary unit of a spindle motor 1 is supported by a housing 3 via a radial dynamic pressure bearing and a thrust bearing and driven to rotate by a motor. A magnetic attraction force is generated between a the part of a motor magnet yoke 35 and a magnet 45 which is attached to the housing 3, so as to face the part of the motor magnet yoke 35 for applying an axial load larger than the self-weight of the rotary unit to the thrust bearing. |
