PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the lubricity of a multi-stage transmission of a vehicle in the condition the vehicle is being towed. SOLUTION: This shift device for multi-stage transmission is composed of an engine stop sensing means 11, shaft revolving speed sensing means 12, TM gear position sensing means 13, and range gear position sensing means 14, and if a vehicle is determined to be towed by a control unit 16 from signals given by every means 11, 12, 13, 14 and the range gear position lies on the Lo side the shift device is shifted automatically by a range shift means 17 to High side so as to lower the racing speed of the main shaft, and thereby the bearings in the transmission are prevented from poorly performed lubrication and occurrence of seizure. |
