CELLULOSE ESTER COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a raw material composition of a film capable of being obtained by applying a solvent-cast method, and excellent in optical and mechanical characteristics. SOLUTION: This cellulose ester composition consists of 1-99 wt.% cellulose triacetate having hydroxide groups of cellulose substituted with the acetyl groups, and the degree of substitution with acetyl (DSace) satisfying the formula 2.7<=DSace<=3.0, and 99-1 wt.% mixed fatty acid esters of the cellulose having the hydroxide groups of the cellulose substituted with >=3C acyl groups and having the degree of substitution with the acetyl (DSace) and the degree of substitution with the >=3C acyl groups (DSacyl) satisfying the formulas (I) 2.20<=DSace<=2.95, (II) 0.05<=DSacyl<=0.80 and(III) 2.60<=DSace+DSacyl<=3.00.
