PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a navigating device that allows a driver to travel according to judgment like a computer game, by providing a means for selecting a guide point on a driving path, a means for displaying a direction of travel at the guide point, a means for switching the screen of a guide image, and means for prohibiting the display of the path and vehicle position information. SOLUTION: When a driver sets (inputs) a destination and guidance time ( necessary target time), a navigating device searches for a route and displays a frame map at a next guide point (junction). A normal navigation screen such as an own vehicle position for guiding a traveling path, the destination, and a path is not displayed. The driver travels (goes straight on) to the guide point being indicated on the frame map according to one's judgment and changes a course to a direction being displayed by the guide point. When the above procedures are repeated for safely arriving at the destination within the guidance time, a game is completed for returning the normal navigation screen. Also, the driver can manually switch a next frame map and a former one according to the selection of the driver during traveling. |
