FUNCTIONALIZED OLEFIN COPOLYMER AS ADDITIVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject copolymer useful as a novel multi-functional additive for fuels and lubricants by including an acylated olefin copolymer, a specific compound for linkage and a reaction product of a function improving compound. SOLUTION: This copolymer contains (A) an acylated olefin copolymer, (B) at least one type of compound for linkage, having two or more amine, thiol and/or alcohol functionalities reactive with the component A (e.g. organic polyamines, polyalcohols, polyhydroxy or thiol amines, amide-amines, and aminoguanidines), and (C) a reaction product of a function improving compound (e.g. monoamines, sterically hindered polyamines, heterocyclic thiols and hydroxylamines).
