<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent adjacent terminal parts with a fine pitch from being short- circuited by conductive film residuals generated at the time of separating a short-circuit ring from terminal parts and invalidating the short-circuit ring by laser beam irradiation in the manufacture of a liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: Respective connecting positions between a group of terminal parts 1 and a short-circuit ring 2 are individually coated with mutually independent light shielding films (masks) 3, exposed conductive film parts 2a between adjacent light shielding films 3 are evaporated and separated by moving the irradiation of a laser spot R along the ring 2, and adjacent terminal parts 1 are electrically separated to invalidate the ring 2. Since generated conductive film residuals 2c are separated through a sufficiently large gap, both the adjacent terminal parts 1 are not short-circuited.</p> |
