FIELD: measurement of magnetic fields of vessels. SUBSTANCE: system of coordinates of vessel-carrier S-N and O-W incorporated in mix of line bed is set before start of uniform movement of tested vessel with the aid of gyrotheodolite. Distances to extreme measurement transmitters are found by acoustic range finders with reference to two points located on axis O-W of vessel-carrier. Gyrotheodolite determines angle between direction to surveyor's stake of bed most distant from vessel-carrier and axis O-W. Optical range finder directed at reflector mounted in bow part of vessel-carrier determines moment of crossing by tested vessel of axis O-W in first point and finds coordinate of this point on axis O-W. Then moment of crossing by tested vessel of direction to most distant surveyor's stake in second point and distance from this point to origin of coordinates of vessel-carrier are determined. Obtained data are used to find length of bed by way of computation of distance between extreme transmitters. Later coordinates of center of bed line - third point, coordinates of second point, length of tested vessel, speed and angle of heading of vessel, coordinates of crossing point by tested vessel of bed line - fourth point, distance between third and fourth points, length of tested vessel are computed. Results of measurement of magnetic field of vessel are recorded starting from moment of coming of vessel to second point up to moment of passing by vessel of double distance between second and fourth points.
