<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network connector capable of exchanging an ATM cell having more reduced overhead and an internet protocol(IP) packet by providing an IP packet assembling means and an ATM cell assembling means for dividing the IP packet of an IP layer into plural ATM cells and reporting it to an AAL layer. SOLUTION: The IP assembling means synthesizes the plural ATM cells in the same transmission destination of the AAL layer into one IP packet between the IP layer of a first communication network and the AAL layer of a second communication network and reports it to the IP layer. An ATM cell assembling means divides the IP packet of the IP layer into plural ATM cells and reports it to the AAL layer. Thus, it is not necessary to process the layer of a higher order than the AAL layer on the side of an ATM network and the layer of a higher order than the IP layer on the side of an IP network, the ATM cell having more reduced overhead and the IP packet can be exchanged.</p> |
