PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily repair a tile roof by forming an operation width of a roof material forming a male-female connecting structure on the width directional side edge in response to an operation width of an existing roof backing, and executing the roof material on the existing roof backing. SOLUTION: An existing roof backingαis composed of a rafter 1, a sheathing roof board 1a, a waterproof sheet and a new tile roof 3. In a roof material A, the width directional one side edge is formed as the male connecting part 9 forming the step difference decorative surface 6 and the inserting edge 7 bent in a U shape to form a hooking groove 8. A cross-sectional almost U-shaped fitting groove 10, the fitting edge 11 folded back in a U shape and the female connecting part 13 formed of a fixing piece 12 extended by bending in an L shape, are formed on the other end of the decorative surface 4. An operation width of the roof material A is formed almost equal to an operation width of a new tile roof 3, and the fixing piece 12 is driven in the vicinity of a step difference of the new tile roof 3 by a fixing toolβto fix the roof material A on the existing roof backingαto thus execute a new roof material without removing the existing roof backing.
