<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear gas discharge lamp, in which positional relationship between an inner cap and an outer cap arranged in the ends of an envelope and an aperture part of a luminescent layer can be easily set with comparatively high accuracy and a directional regulating function can be provided. SOLUTION: This discharge lamp is provided with a straight tubular envelope 1 in which a luminescent layer 2 having an aperture part is formed on the inside face, a pair of external electrodes 5, 6 arranged on the outer circumferential face of the envelope 1 over its substantially overall length and made of metallic material, a harness 10 led out from the end of the envelope 1 and provided with an electrical connection relationship with the external electrodes 5, 6, an insulating inner cap 12 arranged on the harness 10 which is led-out side in the end of the envelope 1 and formed into a cylinder substantially, and an insulative protection member 14 filling an inside space of the inner cap 2. In the outer circumference part of the inner cap 12, first and second projecting locking parts 13, 13A having a directional regulating function are formed so that they are provided with a specified relationship with the aperture part.</p> |
