PURPOSE: A battery calibration method is provided to shorten the calibration operation time. CONSTITUTION: A computer system, powered by a rechargeable battery(110), is driven to maximum consume its power in a battery calibration mode. When the battery is discharged to a predetermined capacity learning level, the computer system learns the capacity of the battery. Thereafter, the computer system is driven in a minimum power consumption mode.
