AIR CONDITIONER AND OPERATION CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rest an air conditioner automatically even upon occurrence of abnormality in a control section performing refrigerant control of the air conditioner. SOLUTION: Outdoor units 21-23 and indoor units 31-34 are connected with one communication line 52 and each outdoor unit and indoor unit can monitor information flowing through the communication line 52 entirely. Each outdoor unit 21-23 is provided with a control section 11-13 and one master control unit is determined out of the plurality of control sections 11-13. Control sections not determined as the control master unit are control slave units. The control master unit performs generic control of refrigerant circulating operation through the outdoor units 21-23 and transmits a life message to each control slave unit every predetermined time. If the life message is not received, the control slave unit makes a decision that the control master unit is abnormal and realizes automatic reset of refrigerant control by determining a new control master unit among the control slave units.
