<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make outputtable the maintenance information of a card processing machine through an easy operation by detecting the connection with an output device from the state of a connection part where the card processing machine is connected to a transmitting means and generating the maintenance information. SOLUTION: The output system for a general service engineer is connected directly to the card processing machine 1 and an output device such as a printer 3 by a cable 5. The cable 5 is connected by the connector at both the ends to the card processing machine 1 and the connector connection part of the printer 3 and transmits data sent and received between the both. The card- processing-machine side connector 7 of the cable 5 has a terminal 9 which is folded back and wired. The CPU of the card processing machine 1 monitors, as a connector connection signal, the resistance between two points which comes into contact with the terminal 9 when the connector 7 is connected and detects the connector connection from variation in the resistance. A card processing mode is changed to a maintenance mode and a process is carried out according to a program stored previously in a ROM.</p> |
