<p>Radiographic imaging apparatus (3) which includes a scintillation screen (9), a light-tight housing (6) and a CCD camera (14). The scintillation screen (9) receives radiation in one part of the electromagnetic spectrum, and emits generated radiation in a different part of the spectrum. The resulting image on the scintillation screen (9) is captured by the CCD camera (14) and digitised. Image capture by the CCD camera (14) is initiated contemporaneously with the emission of radiation by the scintillation screen (9). The scintillation screen (9) may be replaced by a photographic plate feeder for scanning of X-ray images which have been recorded on photographic plates.</p> |
