PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of an improper command value such as to give a driver uncomfortableness by limiting the command value to a shift command motor with the portion corresponding to the torque shift error taken into consideration since the power is put on in the condition after the power is off during the vehicle running. SOLUTION: A toroidal type continuously variable transmission for a vehicle makes shifting with a shift control pressure emitted by a shift control valve which is operated by a step motor 4 with a command value Astep corresponding to the target gear ratio, and when the power is put off while the vehicle is running, the driving initialized command information (FLAGINI=1) is stored in memory, and since the power is put on in the condition that the power is off during the vehicle running, the value which the command value Astep can take is limited within the range (INIRTO2<=Astep<=INIRO1) set narrower than the normal range (RTO2<=Astep<=RTO1) corresponding to the bi-directional mechanical working limit positions of the step motor 4 on the basis of the driving initialized command information. |
