PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyvinyl alcohol-based fiber by an organic solvent-spinning method, capable of stably spinning the fiber without causing an interfiber cementing. SOLUTION: This method for producing a polyvinyl alcohol-based fiber comprises extracting a solvent from a spun raw fiber obtained by an organic solvent spinning method by the use of an alcohol as an extraction solvent, drying the treated fiber, and, if necessary, drawing and thermally treating the dried fiber. Therein, an emulsion dispersed in the alcohol is imparted in an amount of 0.05-2 wt. % based on the fiber, just before the fiber is subjected to the drying process. |
