PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester capable of being heated up to a required temperature in a short time when reheated in a state of a preforming body for molded products and packaging materials excellent in transparency and color tone in a state of a molded product and a packaging material, and also excellent in productivity and moldability of the polyester itself. SOLUTION: When a polyester is obtained by polymerizing an aromatic dicarboxylic acid as a principal acid component with an aliphatic diol as a principal diol component, the polyester of this invention includes 50-350 ppm antimony element and >=30,000 particles of antimony metal having >=0.5μm particle diameter in 100 mg polyester, which have >=70% ratio of minute particles having a particle diameter of >=0.5μm and <0.6μm, and has >=80 hue L-value.
