TRANSFORMING SYSTEM AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A transforming system is provided to protect a lightning rod and equipments of a transforming station when a lightning having a long duration of wave tail. CONSTITUTION: The system, which is provided with a transmission line and a current transformer which is connected with the transmission line and an electric power line (3), comprises a grounding device (12) which is connected with the electric power line and a monitoring device (17) which detects whether a lightning is struck on the transmission line so that the grounding device performs the grounding function. In the system, a lightning rod (11) is mounted between the transmission line and the grounding device and the grounding device is mounted between the transmission line and the lightning rod. A breaker (7) is disposed between the grounding device and the current transformer. The breaker is operated by the monitoring device after the operation of the grounding device. Thereby, when a lightning having a long duration of wave tail directly strike the transmission line, the equipments of a transforming station is protected.
