<p>A proportioning pumping system injects an injection fluid (A) into a pressurized conduit (C) flowing with a working fluid (B) at a constant proportion of injection fluid (A) to working fluid (B) regardless of changes in flow rate or pressure within the working fluid conduit (C). Injection fluid (A) is pumped continuously, by the working fluid (B), from a non-pressurized tank (30). The system includes two or more vessels (19, 20), each divided into two chambers (17, 24, 18, 25) by a diaphragm (26, 27). Valving (15, 16, 21, 22, 28, 29, 31, 32) and passages (13a, 14a) simultaneously fill one vessel (19, 20) with working fluid (B) and pump injection fluid (A) while filling the other vessel (19, 20) with injection fluid (A) and draining working fluid (B). A first pressure differential creating device (1) in the working fluid conduit (C) draws injection fluid (A) into the working fluid conduit (C). A second pressure differential creating device (2) determines the proportion of working fluid (B) and injection fluid (A) to be combined.</p> |
