PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a run flat tire decreasing the weight of a tire and degradation of ride comfort. SOLUTION: In a standard state in which a tire is mounted on a normal rim, and normal inner pressure is applied to the tire, and no load is applied to the tire, a cross sectional contour line on a tire surface is formed substantially by an involute curved line wound around a base ellipse which has radius of curvature successively decreasing from a tire equator point to a side wall part, and has long diameter in a tire radius direction, from the tire equator point P to a tire maximum width point D. The tire maximum width point D is separated inwardly in a tire radius direction from the tire equator point P at an interval of radius distance (h) which is longer than 0.35 times of a tire cross section height and shorter than 0.50 times of that. In a blowout state, a ratio of a distance L between inner and outer intersection points in the tire radius direction where a tire radius line passing a rim width position intersects with a tire inner peripheral surface, and a tire axial direction distance N between the tire radius line and a maximum separated point which is the most separated outwardly in the tire axial direction on the tire inner peripheral surface (L/N) is made to be larger than 0.95 and smaller than 3.0. |
