PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately reproduce the colors of a document and to prevent the picture quality from decreasing by allowing the data converting device, provided separately from a computer, to convert image data while referring to the conversion table corresponding to the print conditions of the image. SOLUTION: In a hard disk provided in the computer 80 are stored conversion tables corresponding to various print conditions so as to convert images in R.G.B representation to C.M.Y representation. The computer 80 selects one conversion table matching print conditions, and transfers and stores the table in the data converting device 10. Then the computer 80 supplies image data to be printed to the converting device 10 through an IF 15 and stores them in a RAMa 13. The converting device 10 while referring to the conversion table converts and stores the image data in a RAMb 14, and outputs them to a color printer 20 through an IF 16. According to the data, the printer 20 forms dots of C .M.Y.K on a printing force by using ink to reproduce a color image corresponding to the document. |
