PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute the thinning of the number of times of driving for the focusing of a photographing lens at the time of a specified mode, to reduce power consumption required for the driving of the photographing lens while suppressing the cause of a release time lag, and also to improve the durability of the driving means for driving the photographing lens and the driving system of the photographing lens. SOLUTION: This camera possesses an arithmetic means to obtain a range- finding signal from the output of a sensor for measuring the distance of an object or for detecting a focusing state or a focus signal for focusing and the driving means driving the photographing lens based on the range-finding signal or the focus signal from the arithmetic means, and has a servo-autofocusing mode to repeatedly execute a range-finding action by the operation of a prescribed first operation member or focusing operation constituted of focus detecting operation and the driving operation of the photographing lens, so that operation ((307) to (317)) to execute lens driving by the driving means after executing the range-finding action or the focus detecting operation at prescribed plural times at the time of servo-autofocusing operation is performed. |
