PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an excellent multiple image by movably arranging an optical element and correcting the asymmetry of the main scanning magnification of a scanning optical system. SOLUTION: This scanner possesses a scanning optical system whose main scanning magnification is asymmetrical to a center image height and mirrors 3, 5 and 6 turning the optical path of a laser beam, and plural photoreceptors is optically scanned by a deflecting means 1 deflecting plural laser beams in bidirections. In this case, the optical elements 2 and 4 constituting the scanning optical system is rotatably arranged in a direction different from the turning direction of the optical path by the mirrors 3, 5 and 6, so that the asymmetry of the main scanning magnification is corrected. |
