<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small sized and high-speed terminating device whose scale is independent of the number of connections to be terminated in the asynchronous transfer mode ATM adaptation layer terminating device by a hardware logic circuit. SOLUTION: The terminating device is provided with a header information extract section 1-6 that extracts VPI/VCI information, a cyclic redundancy check CRC arithmetic section 1-5 that is used for each connection, a reception processing section 1-4 that discriminates a final cell of an ATM adaptation layer message based on pay-load type display information of a header to process received data, a termination work memory 1-8 that stores the CRC arithmetic result and the number of received cells in the unit of, connections, and a reception data buffer memory 1-9 that sequentially stores received data in the unit of connections. The common use CRC arithmetic section 1-5 and the reception processing section 1-4 conduct termination for each connection to the arrived reception cell by using the termination work memory corresponding to each connection.</p> |
