<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect partial discharge electromagnetic waves of an inner insulation fault with good S/N, even in a gas insulated equipment in which a partial discharge detector is not already provided by disposing a dipole-type antenna and metal cover along the periphery of a spacer out of a metal container. SOLUTION: When a partial discharge occurs in a metal container 3, extremely high-frequency signal current pluses of up to several GHz are generated, and electromagnetic waves is propagated into the container 3. In the container 3, its attenuation is low if a discontinuous impedance exists by means of a waveguide theory, and an electromagnetic wave signal is propagated. However, when an opening such as a spacer, a busing or the like exists, the wave leaks to the outside from it. The externally leaked electromagnetic wave signal is received by an antenna 4. The received signal is amplifier by an amplifier 9 capable of amplifying in a wide frequency band up to several GHz, and measured by a measuring instrument 10, capable of frequency analyzing or time analyzing such as a spectrum analyzer, an oscilloscope or the like.</p> |
