PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print in the required correct position of a printing medium by specifying a printing start position separated by the required distance from the specified reference position in the printing medium, by the conveyed quantity of the printing medium. SOLUTION: A feed roller 20 is started by a paper feeding motor 10 to convey a postcard along its longitudinal direction on a conveying passage. The tip edge of the postcard is detected by a detector 40, inputted to a control part 60 and stored in a data storage part 90, and a motor counter 70 of the paper feeding motor 10 is started. The upper frame and lower frame of an aperture frame are detected by the detector, and the positions are grasped as the count quantity of the motor counter 70, inputted to the control part 60 and stored in the data storage part 90. Counting of the motor counter 70 is stopped, and the length of the aperture frame is grasped as the count quantity, imputted to the control part 60 and stored in the data storage part 90. The rear edge of the postcard is detected by the detector 40, grasped as the completion of a printing process, inputted to the control part 60 and stored in the data storage part 90.
