PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing the subject compound comprising such a process that a urea group-contg. flexible polyurethane foam is subjected to continuous contact mixture with high-temperature and high-pressure hot water to effect modification of the polyurethane form to the aimed utilizable compound. SOLUTION: This method comprises the following process: a flexible polyurethane foam containing urea groups in the molecule and produced using water as foaming agent is subjected to continuous contact mixture with a high- temperature and high-pressure fluid as decomposing solvent with its temperature and pressure at the critical or subcritical level inherent in the matter in question to effect modification of the polyurethane form to the aimed active hydrogen (group)-contg. compound; wherein the above fluid as the decomposing solvent is supercritical or subcritical water.
