<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to transfer received paper money upward from a 1st unit up to a 2nd unit through a single transfer station regardless of whether the cash distribution mechanism is of the forward loading mode or backward loading mode. SOLUTION: Paper money is transferred from a pick-up mechanism 52 to a confirmation unit 58 included in the 1st unit 42. When the paper money is rejected, a switching gate directs the paper money to a prage pin 62 also included in the 1st unit 42. The 2nd unit 44 is mounted on the 1st unit 42 in an orientation selected for the 1st unit 42 depending on whether the cash distribution mechanism 20 is of a forward loading mode or a backward loading mode. Paper money received by the confirmation unit 58 is transferred upward from the 1st unit 42.</p> |
