PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a personal handy phone system terminal by which the position of an opposite PHS terminal, the distance between a present PHS terminal and the opposite PHS terminal and a parting/approaching state of the opposite PHS terminal can be confirmed by using the present PHS terminal and to obtain a personal handy phone system(PHS) terminal used for the system. SOLUTION: This system has a plurality of PHS terminals and a position information service center. Each PHS terminal has an inquiry information transmission means that uses a telephone number of a second PHS terminal to allow a first PHS terminal to acquire position information of the second PHS terminal. The position information service center has a position information database having position information of each of PHS terminals and a terminal notice means that informs the first PHS terminal of the position information of the second PHS terminal.
