发明名称 Improvements in or relating to electric storage cells or batteries
摘要 432,775. Batteries. FULLER, L., 160, Cromwell Road, Kensington, London. Oct. 26, 1934, Nos. 30802 and 31925. [Class 53] A dry accumulator is made by first placing a pasted negative electrode in position in a container and then making the positive electrode by filling the container with lead peroxide or lead oxide which has been electrolytically formed, and compressing it against a separator covering the negative electrode. The electrolyte is absorbed in the electrodes and may be introduced into the active material either before or after the positive active material has been placed in the container. The Figure shows a cell in which the negative electrode comprises a layer of paste 12 applied to the interior of a container 10, the paste being subsequently reduced to spongy lead. A porous separator 13 covers the negative electrode. A lead tube or rod 15 is placed in the container and the space between the separator 13 and rod 15 is filled with lead peroxide damped with sulphuric acid. The cell is closed by a layer of porous material 18 and a layer of pitch 20 after having been inserted in an outer container 19 of moulded material. The separator 13 may consist of wood fibre, paper or glass wool, or of a paste of sodium silicate and pumice-powder applied to the active material 12.
