摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing methyl methacrylate based resin foams which can expect reduction in industrial equipment cost and operation cost and, simultaneously, can obtain methyl methacrylate based resin foams having fine foamed cells with an average cell diameter of not greater than 1μm. SOLUTION: A process for producing methyl methacrylate based resin foams comprises bringing a high pressure gas having a pressure of not higher than 25 MPa and a temperature of not lower than 30 deg.C into contact with a methyl methacrylate based resin composition composed of 10-100 wt.% methyl methacrylate based resin A having a weight average molecular weight of 80,000-400,000 and a branched structure with a molecular weight between the branching points defined by the z average molecular weight of 30,000-500,000 and 90-0 wt.% linear-chained methyl methacrylate based resin B, and then effecting foaming.
