PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a navigator which can prevent the interruption of the communication with an information center. SOLUTION: A navigator 10 is provided with a microcomputer 20 and can receive information from an information center by connecting a portable telephone set 42 to the microcomputer 20. The microcomputer 20 searches the route from the present location of a vehicle detected by means of a GPS receiver 24 to a destination inputted by means of an input device 28. At the time of searching the route, the microcomputer 20 searches such a route that the vehicle can pass through as many communicable areas as possible by avoiding incommunicable locations, such as tunnels, etc. In case the vehicle must pass through an incommunicable location, the microcomputer 20 displays a warning message on a display 26 in advance. |
