PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the road information in front of a vehicle in its curving direction easily understandable when the vehicle is curved, by discriminating the curving direction based on the information on the curving direction and broadly displaying the map in the curving direction. SOLUTION: When the scale of a map displayed on a liquid crystal display is selected, the unit corresponding to the position of its own vehicle is selected correspondingly to the scale and map data are read from a CD-ROM. Then the present location and azimuth of the vehicle are decided from road network data and the present location data. In addition, the coordinates of a displaying frame are found in accordance with a transmitted turn signal lamp, right lamp or left lamp, and the mark of the vehicle is indicated on the map displayed on the liquid crystal display based on data and calculated results. When the map is displayed, correction is made so that the map displayed in the displaying frame of the curving direction of the vehicle may be displayed broadly by transmitting the information on the curving direction to a present location computing means and discriminating the curving direction based on the information, and then, moving the coordinate positions of the displaying frame in the direction opposite to the curving direction. |
