PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shearing mode type ink jet printer head in which the service life is prolonged by retarding generation and development of microcrack on the surface of a piezoelectric ceramic composing a barrier wall. SOLUTION: The ink jet printer head 10 comprises a plurality of barrier walls 1 of piezoelectric ceramic arranged in parallel, driving electrodes 4 arranged on the opposite side faces of the barrier walls 1, a channel member 3 defining an ink channel 2 between respective barrier walls 1, a cover plate 5 bonded to the top of the barrier wall 1 to choke each ink channel 2, and ink ejection holes 7 communicating with the ink channel 2 wherein the maximum bore diameter of voids existing on the surface of piezoelectric ceramic composing the barrier wall 1 is set at 10μm or less and the occupancy of void is set at 2.5 or less.
