PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface paper power promoter providing paper showing excellent paper power effects by enhancing coating applicability with making relatively low viscosity even with high concentration and having good compatibility even with combining a surface size agent.SOLUTION: There is provided a paper surface power promoter containing an acrylamide-based polymer (B) obtained by copolymerizing a monomer mixture (A) containing at least (meth)acrylamide (a1), a carboxyl group-containing unsaturated monomer (a2), a cationic unsaturated monomer (a3) and a chain transfer agent (a4) with the content of the cationic unsaturated monomer (a3) of 0.05 to 5 wt.% and having pH of 7.0 to 10.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
