PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the services to users and to lower the maintenance cost by protecting an automatic teller machine by driving a motor and elevating a frame plate through a wire in case of a flood. SOLUTION: A water preventing device 600 has a bottom plate 620 mounted on a floor 610 and a frame plate 630, and the edge parts of the frame plate 630 and bottom plate 620 are connected by a flexible seal member 640 of plastic or the like. On a ceiling 650 facing the floor where an automatic teller machine 1 is installed, a winding device having a motor 660 is installed and a wire 670 is connected to the frame plate 630. This wire 670 is arranged at a side part of the housing 10 of the automatic teller machine 1. In case of water, the motor 660 is driven to elevate the frame plate 630 through the wire 670. consequently, the seal member 640 fitted to the frame plate 630 covers the automatic teller machine 1 which is protected against the water. |
