PURPOSE: A method of transmitting a short message group in a global system for mobile communication is provided to transmit a short message to a number of global system for mobile communication subscribers. CONSTITUTION: A controller checks a short message signal from a gateway circuit part. If the signal is detected, a controller determines if it is a short message data or a short message group registered data. If it is a short message data, the controller detects if it is a group transmission mode. If it is a short message group registered data, a short message group registering mode routine is performed to complete the process. If it is a group transmission mode, the controller controls a short message detecting part to detect the message and stores it in a memory. If not, the controller performs the short message normal mode and ends. After storing the short message, the controller detects a group identifying number out of the short message data. The controller detects if there is any group in the memory, which has the group identifying number. If the group is detected, the controller reads out the number of the caller on the receiving part of the corresponding group. If not, the controller transmits the group non-register error to GSM terminal and ends. If the group is in the memory, the controller generates a tone-signal and transmits it and short message to the subscriber's numbers via the gateway.
