PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate the change of interference intensity by the double refraction change of an optical fiber within a probe even if the probe is curved in a celom by interfering the reflected light detected by a single mode fiber with a reference light generated from a light source. SOLUTION: A transferred light is emitted from the tip side of an optical scanning probe 8 while it is scanned on a living body tissue 11 side as a subject. The reflected light scattered on the surface or in the inner part on the living body tissue 11 side is partially take and returned to a first single mode fiber 3 side through a reverse optical path, and a part of the returned light is transferred to a second single mode fiber 5 side by a photocoupler 4, and incident on, for example, a photodiode 12 as light detector from one end of a second single mode fiber 5. An optical path length variable mechanism 14 for changing the optical path length of a reference light is provided on the tip side by the photocoupler part 4 of the second single mode fiber 5, and the discord of dispersion between object side and reference side and be compensated.
