PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit to increase a filter area without increasing a unit size and cause choking to hardly occur. SOLUTION: This indoor unit comprises a fan 14 to suck indoor air through an air inlet 12b and discharge it through an air outlet 12c; an indoor heat- exchanger 13 to perform heat-exchange between indoor air and a refrigerant supplied from an outdoor unit; an air filter 17 to remove powder dust from indoor air through suction of it by the fan 14; an indoor unit control part consisting of various electric circuit elements; and a casing 10A to contain various apparatuses. A back upper part suction port 12d is formed with the rear of the upper surface of the casing 10A curved in a down state, and the air filter 17 is extended to a back upper part air inlet 12d.
