PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cut a thin, soft material even at a low speed area and improve shearing performance, yield and productivity. SOLUTION: A drum shear has an upper edge on the cylindrical face of an upper drum and a lower edge on the cylindrical face of a lower drum. The upper edge and the lower edge have cutting faces wherein face angles (θu2,θd2) are formed for away from the horizontal surface of a sheared material at a bite starting position of the sheared material and flanks at acute included angles (αu,αd) to the cutting faces wherein relief angles (θu1,θd1) are formed perpendicular to the sheared material. A relationship among the relief angles (θu1,θd1), cutting angles (θu2,θd2) and the included angles (αu,αd) isθu1=90-αu-θu2(degrees) andθd1=90-αd-θd2(degrees).
