PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a defective printing due to a cutting operation of a tape in a tape printer. SOLUTION: A tape presser 93 fixes a tape T to a fixing wall prior to the cutting of the tape T by a movable blade 98 and a fixed blade 91. The movement of the tape presser 93 is detected by a detecting switch 99. The detecting switch 99 is connected to a common line connected to a printer controller, a motor driver and a CPU and the use condition of a cutting mechanism is detected. When the cutting mechanism becomes to be used during the printing, the switch 99 is operated. When the switch 99 is operated, the operation of a printing section is immediately stopped. |
