<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a facsimile terminal that automatically selects a method with high possibility of arrival of transmission data to a transmission destination and transmits data even when a public switched telephone network encounters abnormity and congestion under any circumstance or on the occurrence of a disaster. SOLUTION: The facsimile terminal has a connection interface to a public switched telephone network(PSTN) 32 and the Internet 34 and further has a control means 20 that selects facsimile transmission via the Internet when the facsimile transmission using the public switched telephone network has failed consecutively for a prescribed number of times. Thus, in the case the facsimile communication is disabled because the PSTN is in abnormal congestion, the facsimile communication via the Internet is automatically selected and the possibility of arrival of information into an object destination can be enhanced even on the occurrence of a disaster.</p> |
