PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition excellent in flame retardancy and molding processability and slight in metal contamination when used as electrical/ electronic parts by incorporating an aromatic polyester with a bromine-based flame retardant, an antimony-based flame retarding auxiliary and a basic carbonate compound. SOLUTION: This resin composition is obtained by incorporating (A) 100 pts.wt. of an aromatic polyester (e.g. polytetramethylene terephthalate) with (B) 5-100 pts.wt. of a brominated epoxy compound of formula I (n is 2-50) and/or a brominated polyacrylate of formula II (R is H or methyl; p is 1-5; m is 20-160), (C) 2-50 pts.wt. of an antimony-based flame retarding auxiliary (e.g. antimony pentoxide) and (D) 0.01-10 pts.wt. of a basic carbonate of the formula Znx.Mgy.Alz.(OH)p(CO3)q.mH2O (p, q, x, y and z are each >=1, and 2x+2y+3z= p+2q; m is 0 or a positive number) with pH 7-10. |
