PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a card recovery control by facilitating feeding by a separation retry of card for having a card likely to be defective by the separation retry not issued. SOLUTION: When a card 3 stored on a push plate 2 of a card hopper 3 is fed, it is fed first by rotating normally a pickup roller (PU roller) 4 in a feeding direction. When a separation retry of which the card 3 does not pass through passing sensors 71 and 72 in a constant time after starting being fed and fails in feeding for being re-fed is performed, the PU roller 4 is fed by rotating normally to the feeding direction after the PU roller 4 is rotated inversely once for having the to-be fed card 3 backed slightly on the push plate 2 inside the hopper 3. If a DiP switch 26 is ON, by a main control part 24, the card 3 normally fed is stored in a card tray 18 after being printed, and the card 3 which is issued for a user after moving to an outlet and stopping while being magnetically recorded to be separation-retried in stored in the tray 18 to fall and be recovered in a recovery box 14.
