PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent scuffing or wear of a top ring of a piston with simple configuration. SOLUTION: A cylinder injection type two cycle engine comprises a cylinder 12 into which fuel is injected directly, a scavenging port and an exhaust port formed in the cylinder, a piston 13 which slides inside the cylinder, a top ring 62 and a second ring 63 fitted in an outer peripheral surface of the piston 13. On an outer peripheral surface of the second ring 63, a plurality of notches or concave grooves are formed as lubricant passages 64 through which lubricant flows in a sliding direction of the piston.
