PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance luminance by irradiating a front portion with light not used by being shielded by a light shielding hood for directly shielding light, in a vehicular lighting tool such as a headlight requiring high luminance. SOLUTION: A vehicular lighting tool comprises: a light source 1; a light shielding hood 3 for shielding light from the light source 1; and a reflector 2 for reflecting the light from the light source 1 forward. Upper openings 31, 32 are formed at the upper portion of the light shielding hood 3, for introducing part of the light from the light source 1 forward; in the meantime, a lower opening 34 is formed at the lower portion thereof. Reflecting plates 41, 42, 43 for reflecting the lights from the upper openings 31, 32 at an angle downward in a horizontal direction are connected at the front portions of the upper openings 31, 32.
