PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) having a self light source and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce power consumption and to enlarge an area. CONSTITUTION: A scan pulse is fed from a scan electrode driving unit(58) to a first scan/light emitting pixel cathode electrode(s1). A first line displays an image when an image signal is fed to a data electrode while the scan pulse has a low level. The image signal is fed only to data electrodes(d1,d3,d5,d7,d9). In feeding a driving voltage from a light emitting element driving unit(64) to a light emitting anode electrode, an optical beam is generated by emitting a light emitting element. A driving voltage is fed only to light emitting elements(l1,l3,l5,l7,l9). The emitted optical beam by the light emitting elements is controlled a permeated amount by corresponding to the fed image signal of the data electrodes. Thereby, power consumption is reduced.
