摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a swelling part on a core side face by intermittently pressing a core end face of a plastic optical fiber end part against a mold heated up to a fixed temperature to soften and melt it and transferring a transfer face of the mold on the core end face. SOLUTION: A mold 17 is arranged by opposing to a core end face 51a of a plastic optical fiber end part 53 to heat the mold 17 by a heater 18. The core end face 51a is deformed in accordance with a transfer face 17a by softening and melting a part of the core end face 51a centered on a contact face while it is gently pressed against the heated mold 17. The same shape as the transfer face 17a of the mold 17 is formed on the core end face 51a by forming the core end face 51a gradually by heating and pressurizing it. That is, since the core end face 51a is intermittently heated and pressurized to form the transfer face on the core end face 51a gradually, the softened core end face 51a does not stick out from the mold 17.
